The new Flashback 2 serves up a sonic buffet of expressive delay by infusing the pressure sensitive MASH technology with our renowned delay algorithms.??

We completely redeveloped our Tape and Analog algorithms from scratch, recreating the tones of old school echoes with unheard realism, including every little eccentric behavior inherent in those legendary designs.??

We also squeezed in a shimmering Crystal delay, made with our own polyphonic octave algorithm from Sub 'N" Up into Flashback 2.?? And finally, with 3 TonePrint slots in total, you? get more flexibility than ever, and all the?legendary delay sounds that TC ELECTRONIC are ?famous for.

    •    Expressive MASH technology
    •    New Ultra-Realistic Tape and Analog Algorithms
    •    New Crystal Delay

Express Yourself!
MASH reacts to the amount of pressure you put on the switch. The harder you press, the more intense the effect.

We made MASH controllable through the free TonePrint Editor which means that, you can assign to any parameter and up to 3 parameters at once.

For each delay preset, MASH will control a different parameter and let you express yourself without having to bend down to turn knobs and without the trouble of getting a dedicated expression pedal.

For example, you can assign MASH to raise the delay time as you press down, subtly increase the delay feedback into full-blown self-oscillation, or gradually add and deepen chorus modulation for out-of-tune flutters. Less

New Tape and Analog Algorithms
We seriously improved the Tape and Analog algorithms to make them more realistic than ever, displaying all of the idiosyncratic flutters and warbles reminiscent of the old days.

Twisting the Delay knob while playing will alter the pitch of the repeats and cranking the feedback sends the pedal spinning into self-oscillation ecstasy.

With MASH added to the mix, you no longer have to strain your back to reach down and twist knobs while mid solo. Just set MASH to control the parameter you have in mind and rock!

New Crystal Delay
The tantalizing Crystal delay takes advantage the same cutting edge polyphonic octave algorithm that made the Sub 'N" Up Octaver a success.

By shifting the pitch of the delayed signal up an octave through each feedback loop, we've created an immaculate shimmer.

MASHing in this setting sends the delays into self-oscillation, providing you with surges of incandescent tone.

True to Tone
You love tone, so do we, and our design philosophy testifies to that. So whatever route you wanna go, we got your back. With optimized headroom, True Bypass or Buffered Bypass switch and Kill-Dry on/off, this pedal guarantees optimal tonal integrity and zero loss of tone. And, no matter if the pedal is on or off your precious dry sound is always passed through the pedal unharmed in all it's pure analog glory due to an Analog-Dry-Through

Flashback 2 Delay makes dialing in a sweet delay intuitive and easy, while the addition of MASH gives you a totally new way of using a delay pedal.

Subdivision Mini Toggle

The subdivision switch lets you choose between repeats in quarter notes, dotted eighths or both combined! Using the TonePrint Editor will provide you with even more subdivisions.

Delay
Set the delay time from short echoes up to 7 seconds of dreamy delay. In Tape and Analog modes, twisting this knob will alter the pitch of the delays just as in the old designs.

Feedback
This knob manipulates the number of repetitions. If you crank the knob all the way up, the pedal will go into sweet, psychedelic self-oscillation.

MASHlight
The MASHlight indicates the intensity of the effect controlled by MASH. Putting pressure on the footswitch will make the MASHlight brighter and lifting your foot off the pedal will make it dimmer.

Type Selector
Choose from 8 studio quality delay types (including brand new Analog, Tape, and Crystal delays) and use the 3 (!!!) TonePrint slots to either design your own delay or select one from the TonePrint family of artists. P.Pong, Slap, and LoFi delays are still available through the TonePrint Editor.

Level
Sets the volume of the delayed repeats from subtly tailing your signal to almost overpowering it! Whether you want faint echoes or resounding repetitions of your signal, we’ve got you covered.

Optional External Tap Tempo Switch
Now you can connect an external tap tempo footswitch through the stereo input to make tempo tapping extra easy.

Footswitch
Press the switch to turn on the pedal. After that, you simply hold down the switch to engage MASH. The technology is pressure sensitive so the harder you press down, the more intense the effect. Lift your foot and MASH is bypassed. Of course, you still get either true- or buffered bypass by using the easy-to-access internal dip switch.

MASH Presets
For each delay type, MASH has a different effect. Here is a quick overview.

2290
Using our legendary 2290 delay algorithm, MASH is assigned to raise the Feedback and input level, effectively freezing the last repetition until you release the footswitch for a "hold"-effect.

Ana
In our reworked Analog mode, MASH boosts Feedback and turns down Delay time for real time self-oscillation madness that sends the pitch flying!

Tape
Using the classic and über-realistic Tape mode, MASH controls Delay time and boosts Feedback to maximum for an orgy of space echo feedback.

Dyn

With the Dynamic Delay algorithm, MASH controls the gate threshold. This means that pushing MASH down removes the gate, leaving you with a normal 2290 delay.

Mod
In the Modulation mode, pressing MASH increases the depth of the TriChorus modulation over the delayed repeats.

Crystal
In Crystal mode, MASH raises the Octaver send, the delay Feedback and the spacing of the Octaver's filter bank. Put simply, it controls the intensity of the shimmer effect for swells of crystalline repeats.

Rvs
Using the old school Reverse delay effect, MASH engages the “kill dry”-mode and mutes the dry signal, leaving only a reversed sound.

Loop

With the looper engaged, MASH is effectively disabled.

TonePrint 1
This setting is based on a Tape delay with MASH controlling feedback and the amount of soft clipping from the tape.

TonePrint 2
This setting is based on a Crystal delay with MASH controlling the delay Feedback and the tone of the octave.

TonePrint 3

This setting is a Crystal delay where MASH controls the input level of your instrument. It is essentially a volume pedal that raises the input level, as you press the MASH switch down and lowers it when you don’t.
