SH-5 Duncan Custom Bridge

A custom overwound P.A.F.-like humbucker with moderate output, perfectly voiced for supreme blues, rock, and metal.

Description

The Duncan Custom is a hot humbucker which uses a small ceramic magnet and custom-wound coils to dish out a ‘P.A.F.-on-steroids’ tone. It has tight lows, a bump in the upper midrange which gives you more character and crunch, and an airy high end that cuts through heavy distortion but is also great for achieving crystal-clear clean tones. It’s especially suited to warmer-sounding guitars with a prominent midrange, and many players like to use it in Les Pauls and Paul Reed Smiths. It pairs well with the Jazz or ’59 neck models, and forms one half of our ’59/Custom Hybrid humbucker.

Hand built in our Santa Barbara, CA factory, the Duncan Custom uses a small ceramic bar magnet, nickel silver bottom plate, 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options, and is vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance.

SH-2n Jazz Neck


Summary

The Jazz Model neck is a bright, vintage-output humbucker which stays clear even under extreme distortion.

Description

Originally designed as the matching neck pickup for the JB Model bridge pickup, the Jazz is an incredibly versatile humbucker that will work for almost any style of music. An Alnico 5 bar magnet and a special coil wind give it a glassy treble response and full, tight bass, while scooped mids help each note to sing clearly even under extreme high gain – or even more extreme speed. It pairs especially well with the JB, Distortion, Invader and Perpetual Burn but is a great all-purpose neck pickup for many pickup combinations. It’s a favorite among the likes of legendary players such as Randy Rhoads, Jeff Beck, Dave Mustaine and Alex Skolnick.
